Vishakha is the 16th of the 27 lunar mansions of Vedic astrology. Its deity is Indra and Agni, its symbol a triumphal arch, and its ruling planet Jupiter. Tradition reads in it determination, ambition, perseverance.
Attributes
- Deity : Indra and Agni
- Symbol : a triumphal arch
- Lord : Jupiter

Gana : Rakshasa (demonic)
An intense, independent temperament; in the tradition the word carries no moral judgement, it speaks of strength.
The four padas
- Pada 1 : 20°00′ Libra – 23°20′ Libra · navamsa ♈︎ Aries
- Pada 2 : 23°20′ Libra – 26°40′ Libra · navamsa ♉︎ Taurus
- Pada 3 : 26°40′ Libra – 30°00′ Libra · navamsa ♊︎ Gemini
- Pada 4 : 0°00′ Scorpio – 3°20′ Scorpio · navamsa ♋︎ Cancer
Each pada covers 3°20′. The 108 padas run through the zodiac nine times: the navamsa is the sign of that second cycle, which Vedic astrology reads as a shade of the first.
