Your Celtic tree
The Celtic tree horoscope gives each birth date one of 21 trees. Four trees rule a single day, at the equinoxes and solstices: oak, birch, olive and beech. The others come back twice a year, six months apart.

Where does this horoscope come from?
It is not Celtic. The tree calendar was devised by the poet Robert Graves in The White Goddess (1948), from the ogham alphabet; it has no link with any historical Celtic calendar. The only Gaulish calendar known, the Coligny calendar (1st century BC, found in 1897), says nothing of trees. The dated 21-tree version came later, through the press, and exists in several variants.
Dates checked against four published tables (horoscope-celtique.ch, Gerbeaud, Les Scouts, Cosmopolitan). They differ on two periods: 1 to 14 May (poplar for three, yew for one) and 3 to 11 November (walnut for two, poplar or yew for the others); the majority version is kept.
